Undergraduate Internships

The SMAHRTeam is dedicated to supporting trainees towards improving the health and well-being of teens. Our multidisciplinary team includes undergraduate students, medical trainees, and SMAHRT staff from various backgrounds of study including education, psychology, communication, and biology. We work with several undergraduate students as research and communication interns.

Research Internships

SMAHRT research internships provide immersive experiences for undergraduate students. Research interns work on ongoing projects that focus on the relationship between social media and adolescent health. They also have the opportunity to complete an independent research project. In the past we have worked with several first or second year students in the Undergraduate Research Symposium course at the University of Wisconsin – Madison. For more information about our current openings, email smahrt@pediatrics.wisc.edu.

Communication Internships

SMAHRT’s communications team aims to bridge the gap between science and the general public. Communication interns work together to creatively promote SMAHRT and our work through social media campaigns, blog posts, and much more. In recent years, we have worked with many students in the University of Wisconsin – Madison School of Journalism and Mass Communication. For more information about current openings email our communications lead, Maggie Cooper at bushman2@wisc.edu.
