Celebrating Women in Science: Q&A With Quinlan Alfredson

Quinlan Alfredson - Women in Science

Q: What have you been working on while on SMAHRT?

A: I have been working on exploring how virtual learning during COVID-19 has changed undergraduate students’ mental health. I have also been working with my mentor (Anna) on a systematic review.

Q: What project are you most proud of and why? This doesn’t necessarily need to be a SMAHRT project!

A: Having my independent project approved by the IRB!

Q: What female role models/mentors do you have in your life?

A: My mom.

Q: What is the best advice they have given you?

A: My mom has always taught me about setting goals, which has motivated me through high school and now college!

Q: What do you hope the future is like for women and girls in science?

A: I hope young girls will never be scared to have goals in the career of
science just because they are women!
